Alright, people are trying to figure out when to set the DVR, tell the kids to record or watch, or whatever. So we wanted to take you through the weekend as it will break down on the air.
EDITOR’S UPDATE: For the full highlights of our PMC kickoff show, broadcast live on NECN and teamnecn.com,click here.
FRIDAY 8 p.m. – PMC KICKOFF SHOW
It all kicks off Friday evening, August 1. NECN will be live in Sturbridge for our annual telecast of the PMC Kickoff Show. The one-hour special is always a great event, and this year will be no exception. R.D. Sahl and Beth Shelburne will host. The night will feature great stories, musical guests Coby Brown and Jon Robert, more of those wonderful video essays by John Deputy, and more.
ABOUT THE MUSIC
Brookline, Mass. native and L.A.-based singer/songwriter Coby Brown was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma two years ago. While battling cancer and being treated at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, he wrote the album “Stars and Curses,” the album from which his music will come Friday night.
Boston-based singer/songwriter Jon Robert has performed with the likes of Sheryl Crow, John Mayer and James Blunt. His music has also been featured on MTV’s series “The Real World” and “The Hills”.
SATURDAY and SUNDAY – The Ride
While the riders are doing all the work, NECN will have regular updates from across Massachusetts throughout Saturday and Sunday, starting when the riders set off early Saturday morning, and following them on the routes right through until Sunday afternoon’s finish.
SUNDAY 7 p.m. – PMC WRAP-UP SHOW
And on Sunday, R.D. and Beth will be back to bring together two days of wonderful stories in what has become one of our favorite shows, the PMC Wrap-Up Show. We’ll bring together the many stories we have been gathering from Sturbridge to Provincetown over the course of the weekend, and bring them all to you.
It’s going to be another great weekend, and we look forward to bringing it to you.

Got something to say?

The Pan-Mass Challenge celebrates its 30th anniversary with more riders than ever August 1 and 2.

Unfortunately, I have satellite tv, which does not carry NECN. Is there any plan to broadcast openig ceremonies on the internet?
You know – I suppose we could. I will try to set up a live stream tonight so people can watch on the Net… we will also be posting clips from the show on NECN.com and teamnecn.com.
Hoping that you can steamline the whole weekend, I know there are alot of cameras. This year, due to work, I cannot “cheerlead”. I’ll miss everybody. Best wishes to all, especially the road crew. Blups, Moe
Congratulations to our Granddaughter Helen Pettigrew who is a rider. We wish her a happy and safe ride from Leongatha, Victoria, Australia. Don & Margeret.
I hear there are also PMCers riding in Italy. What do you know about them? Let’s wish them well too!
